Class Rules and Guidelines

Fall 2008                             Mr. Allred                                Room 411

(This is only a general description of how I expect you to conduct yourself in class.  All rules fall under MCPS code of student rights, responsibilities, and rules.)

1.      Follow all instructions.

2.      Be polite to each other, guests, and the teacher.

o       Do not talk at all during instruction.  It’s disruptive and rude.

o       Do not curse or almost curse.  Both will be taken the same way.

o       Do not touch my stuff.  I won’t touch your stuff.

o       Don't ask me to leave class during instruction.  This is an unwelcome disruption.   I will always say no.

o       Sexual misconduct will not be tolerated.

3.       Be in class and ready to begin at the bell.  You are tardy if you are outside of the classroom at the bell.   Exceptions only with a note.

4.      Bring all materials (books, paper, pencil) to class.  If you forget something, go get it or borrow from someone.  Deal with it quietly so that I don’t even know about it.

5.      Stay in your seat during instruction.  Repeat this to yourself one million times.

6.      Talk only when appropriate – never while the teacher is talking.

7.      Do not throw anything.  Ever.

More Guidelines, just so you’ll know…

  1. Do not sleep during class.
  2. Cheating/copying is not allowed.  It will result in at LEAST a zero.
  3. No gum or food is allowed in the classroom.  Drinks are ok.
  4. Do your seatwork/ homework/ independent practice in class when given time.
  5. VERY IMPORTANT!!!   To leave class, you must have a hall pass in your agenda.  Your name can’t be scratched out.  You have six passes per nine weeks.  I will not sign a seventh!
  6. Make up work/ late work:

a.       MCS policy is you have 3 days to arrange to make up missed work from an absence.  Our arrangement is that you will have 2 weeks from the day you return to school to turn in work for full credit.  I will not accept any work after 2 weeks unless there is a very good reason..  It is your responsibility to get the work and turn it in on time.

b.      Turn in assignments when they are due.  Late work is ½ credit.

c.       If you are in class but do not do your work, it cannot be made up.

Consequences for violations will be as stated in Maury County School Discipline Plan.
