NEW DISMISSAL PROCEDURES

PLEASE NOTE

The dismissal procedure for car riders will change significantly this year.  Parents of K – 5 students will no longer come into the building to wait or check out students to be dismissed through the front doors near the office.  Nor will parents park along the street and wait for students to be dismissed out the front door to make their way to their cars.

The following is the new dismissal procedure:

v     Parents will remain in cars and form a line coming down Carter Street toward Riverside Drive, careful not to block the driveway at the Tennessee Valley Meat entrance (this is a private drive).

v     Car riders will be dismissed from the cafeteria doors as parents pull into the bus lane.  Inside car mirror hanger tags will be used by parents picking up students.  You MUST have this numbered green hang tag visible to our staff to pick up your child.  Each grade level and multiple car riders will have specific numbers. Numbers are available in the school office.

v    NOTE:  If you think that your child will be a car rider at any time during the school year, please make sure you have a hang tag.

v     Car rider dismissal should be complete before our large buses arrive, beginning about 3:25 p.m.

v     All car riders K- 5 will be assembled in the cafeteria and dismissed to the cars as parents arrive in the bus lane.

v    No separate car rider dismissal for kindergarten students.

v     ALL car riders must be picked up by 3:25 p.m.  Parents arriving late after 3:30 p.m. must report in person to the office to sign students out.

IMPORTANT:  ACCORDING TO MAURY COUNTY BOARD POLICY #6.208, STUDENTS WILL NOT BE DISMISSED FROM THE SCHOOL OFFICE WITHIN THE FINAL TWENTY MINUTES PRIOR TO ACTUAL RELEASE TIME.  IF YOU NEED TO PICK UP YOUR CHILD EARLY, YOU MUST DO SO BEFORE 2:45 P.M.
