The year is flying
by! I am posting the assignments for the last 2 weeks
here on the front page. These last 2 weeks we will be
reviewing so we will not have spelling words. We will
work on high-frequency words in class, but students will not
have sentences for homework. We have finished our
reading textbooks, so we are covering fables, fairy tales, and
folk tales in class this week and into next week as
well. We have our math assessment this week that
verifies that students are ready for 3rd grade. We are
reviewing for that math assessment as well as continuing to
work on 3-digit addition and subtraction, and mental
math. I hope to finish this chapter and math and get
into Chapter 12 which is basic multiplication and
division. Use every opportunity to have your child
practice time telling and counting money. If they ask
you for the time at home, have them tell you instead. We
are visiting the computer lab as well to work on 2nd grade
level assessments. The games make learning
fun!
We will be having
Field Day on Friday, May 16th. We are asking all parents
to send in snacks and/or drinks for the students to have
throughout the day. We will be playing relay-style games
that are all for fun, no prizes will be awarded. Please
have your child wear their Sprint shirt. Please be
certain they dress appropriately for the fun day.
