Boys Basketball in the Hill If you have heard the clank of metal to floor echoing throughout the gym, then that can only mean one thing; weight training has started for the boy's basketball team. It is after school on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays every day. These players know that they need to get stronger for their upcoming season. It also gives them a chance to compete against each other and to form that kind of camaraderie than only comes from sweating together. Official conditioning starts September 5th, and that's when the real work starts. Conditioning will be Mondays-Thursdays each week with Fridays off. It will be running, agility workouts, running and other forms of running. Coach Young says that, " Because of the style of play they will play, they have to be in great shape." Conditioning will last for four weeks (let's hope our team lasts that long) before they will have a two week break throughout October 2-13. They will start again on October 16-26 and continue the conditioning and then see if their running paid off when they try out on October 30. |
