Physical Science                                 1 credit                          Open to 9,10,11,12

This is a general  science course that covers the basics of chemistry and physics.  A designated lab time is used to re-enforce concepts.  This course is required of all freshmen.  Lab fee is $10.00.

Advanced Physical Science              1 credit                           Open to 9th

Pre-requisite:  Teacher recommendation

This is an accelerated general science course that covers the basics of chemistry and physics.  A designated lab time is used to re-enforce concepts.  Lab fee is $10.00.

Biology                                                1 credit                            Open to 10,11,12

This is a laboratory course that covers the Chemical Basics of Life, Cell Biology, Genetics and Human Inheritance, Classification of Monerans, Protist, Fungi, Plants, and Animals.  Environmental interactions, Natural Selection, and a Steam Study Project are also included.  All students are required to pass the Biology Gateway Test for graduation.  Lab fee is $15.00

Advanced Biology                            1 credit                             Open to 10th

Pre-requisite:  93+ average in Physical Science and teacher recommendation.

Biology II                                           1 credit                          Open to 10,11,12          

Pre-requisite:  Biology I

This course covers comparative Anatomy/Zoology, Botany, Genetics, Immunology, Microbiology, and Embryology.  Laboratory is a large component of the class.  Lab fee is $25.00

Anatomy and Physiology               1 credit                           Open to 11,12

Pre-requisite:  Biology I and Chemistry I, or Teacher Recommendation

This lab oriented course is recommended for 11th and 12th grade students considering a career in health, medicine, or a related field of study in college.  Course topics include the Major Organ Systems of the Human body, Cell Biology, Genetics, and Heredity, Natural, Natural Cycles and Energy Distribution, Anthropological concepts, and Human Interaction with Ecosystems.  Lab fee: $25.00

Chemistry I                                     1 credit                            Open to 10,11,12

Pre-requisite:  Physical Science, Algebra I, Chemistry I, or Teacher Recommendation

This is a lab-oriented course that is recommended for college bound students considering a career in education, health, medicine, or engineering.  Course topics include the Metric System, Atomic Structure, Periodic Table, Chemical Formulas and Equations, Stoichiometry, Behavior of gases, Solutions, and Acid-Base Reactions.  Lab fee is $25.00

Chemistry II                                    1 credit                            Open to 11,12

Pre-requisite:  Physical Science, Algebra I, Chemistry I, or Teacher Recomendation

This is a lab-oriented course that is recommend for college bound students considering a career in health, medicine, or engineering.  Course topics include Acid-Base Solutions, Chemical Equilibrium, Kinetics and Thermodynamics, Electrochemistry, Organic Chemistry, and Nuclear Chemistry.  Lab fee is $25.00

Ecology                                           1 credit                           Open to 11,12

Pre-requisite:  Physical Science and Biology I

This course for juniors and seniors is the study of the relationship between organisms and their environment.  The goal of the course is to develop an understanding of the interdependence of all organisms and the need for conserving our natural resources.  Lab fee is $10.00

Physics                                           1 credit                          Open to 11,12

Pre-requisite:  Physical Science, Chemistry, Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, or teacher recommendation.

This is a lab-oriented course that is recommended for college bound students considering a career in health, medicine, or engineering.  Course topics include Mechanics, Thermodynamics, Waves and Sound, Light and Optics, Electricity and Magnetism, and, time permitting, Atomic and Nuclear Physics.  Lab fee is $15.00.
