Spring Hill High School's Academy of Information Technology was established in the fall of 2004 with funding from Maury County Public Schools Career and Technical Education Department and the Center for Information Technology Education at Nashville Community College.

The mission of the academy is to provide our community with individuals who have marketable skills in information technology. The academy will contribute to the economic development of Maury County with individuals prepared for careers in information technology.

AIT provides students with instruction through integrated curriculum. In addition to the IT courses, senior English is included in the academy. The English class will be more technical in content while including all the state standards. AIT provides students with work-based learning opportunities to further the integration of learning. Work-based learning includes job shadowing, internships and cooperative education.

We have a close working relationship with local businesses. The business community is the driving force in developing and sustaining the academy. Through their involvement the academy focuses on academics and information technology. AIT teachers are committed to professional development. Their training focuses on interdisciplinary teaching and course specific instruction.
