  An introductory studio course which seeks to expose the student to hands on experience relating to basic Visual Design elements and Principles. This course is complied of projects which have basis in art periods and styles and in cultural interpretations. A fee is required for this course.

  Teacher: Mr. Cox and Mrs. Buchanan

  Prerequisite: Art I

  
  This course is designed for a student with the serious desire to further art skills and basics. Students learn to work in a broad variety of techniques and media. Students should understand a basic art vocabulary and tool usage before entering this level of art. Students begin learning about portfolio development and making decisions about input into their own projects.
  
  
• Art III/IV (Honors Art) ½-1 credit

  Prerequisite: Art II

  
  The third course in a sequence of visual art electives. It is designed for highly self-motivated students who are capable of independent study. The purpose of this course is to allow student concentration on area of main interest. A fee is required for this course.
  
  

• Art History ½-1 credit
  Teacher: Mr. Cox
  This course surveys the history of visual art, beginning with prehistoric cave paintings and ending with modern art.

  Music History

Mr. Jack This course studies the history and development as well as appreciation of classical music, cultural music, jazz and rock. There is no performance or musical knowledge required for this class. Theater.

  Band ½-1 credit

  Marching Band-Percussion
  Concert Band-Percussion
  

  Pre-requisite: Middle School band or its equivalent and teacher aproval. Development of musical skill, reading music, individual performance, concert band and marching band. A fee is required for this course.
  

• Vocal Music ½-1 credit
  
  A full year course, emphasis in this course is on voice development. It also includes the fundamentals of music, reading, part singing, and elementary theory.
  
• Guitar ½-1 credit
  Mr. Jack
  Students must have an acoustic guitar for this course. This course will cover everything from tuning the guitar to reading music.
