Students were sorted into the four houses while their parents signed in and received Hogwarts Journals. Students participated in four sessions: Wand-making, tattooing, quizzing, and amulet-making. Everyone attended the Bertie Bott’s bean tasting session and chose their favorite flavors. Parents received an element of reading at each session: Phonemic Awareness, Phonics, Vocabulary, Fluency, and Comprehension. Faculty and staff members dressed as Hogwarts professors and conducted the sessions. Selections from the first Harry Potter novel, The Sorcerer’s Stone, were read throughout the evening.
