J. E. Woodard Elementary School is located at the southern end of the Columbia city limits. It was the first newly-created school in Maury County in twenty years when it opened in August, 1990. It was named for Dr. James E. Woodard, a longtime member of the Maury County Board of Education. He served as Chairman of the board from 1971-1980. J. E. Woodard is a modern facility serving kindergarten through fourth grade. |
