Helpful Hints

Parents… thank you for giving your child the gift of your time, which is really the most important thing you can give them!!   You can help by reviewing the following things at home.

           

  Please read aloud every night to your child.  Be sure to also allow him/her to read to you!!  Use the little class-made books your child brings home for them to  practice.   These books build your child’s confidence and helps your child by reviewing sight words we’ve covered in class…

Sight Words we need to know:

Please review the alphabet daily.
Be sure your child can: 

1. Identify all capital and lower case letters.
2. Write the capital and lower case letters correctly.
3. Identify the sound of each letter.
4. Use the sounds they know to “sound out” simple words.

Please review math skills at home.
Be sure your child can:
1. Identify numerals 0-20,  and write numerals correctly.
2. Count aloud to 100
3. Count sets of objects and match sets to numerals.
4. Put numerals in order.
