Welcome to Mrs. Minyard’s kindergarten class!

My goals for this year are for each child to:

.Feel that school is a good place; learn to enjoy children and adults outside his own family group.

.Feel that he/she is a worthwhile person with ideas and abilities to contribute; build his/her self-esteem.

.Become a responsible working member of the group.

.Acquire a greater ability to communicate with others.

.Learn the necessary social and emotional controls for living and learning with others. Learn to follow the rules established for the group.

.Develop his/her powers of reasoning and problem-solving.

.Become more self-reliant, independent, cooperative.

.Learn good work habits – staying with a task, taking responsibility for himself and his tools.

.Acquire interesting and useful knowledge about the world in the areas of science and social studies appropriate for his/her age level.

.Master the skills and knowledge needed to be a successful kindergarten learner and to prepare him/her for future school success in reading, writing, and math.

.Develop his/her creativity.

.Develop his/her individual talents and abilities and to teach him as an individual with these in mind.
