Dear Parents,

These are just a few reminders to help you and your child make a smooth transition to kindergarten:

1. We have gym on Wednesdays and Fridays.  Please have your child wear or bring tennis shoes on this day.  Children are so disappointed to have to sit out and only watch because they wore sandals or hard-soled shoes.

2. Please do not let toys come to school with your child.  A soft, quiet stuffed animal for nap time is fine.  On Thursdays, we'll have a sharing time when children may share an item from home that begins with the letter of the week. The children really enjoy this, and looking for something that begins with the letter enhances their learning.

3. Each Friday we will try to wear the color of the week, until we finish studying colors.

4. A weekly newsletter will come home each Monday.  Post it at home to help in remembering activities for the week.  Also, a calendar will be sent home at the beginning of each month.

5. Your child will need ice cream money($.50), or a snack from home every day.  We eat lunch at 10:50, so by snack time at 1:40, we are very hungry.

6. Most important: Please send all moneys in separate envelopes, well marked with your child's name, his/her teacher's name, the purpose and the amount. Do not include juice, ice cream money or any other money with your child's lunch money. We can not make change in the classroom. Lunch money is turned in to the cafeteria and ice cream money stays in the classroom until snack time.  Please remember to put your child's lunch envelope in his\her folder, so that I will get them first thing in the morning.  Also, all notes about transportation changes, etc. should be placed in the folder
.
6. The teacher must be notified in writing of any changes in transportation home. If your child does not bring a note, he/she will be sent home his/her usual way.

YOUR CHILD'S FOLDER MUST BE CHECKED EVERY NIGHT AND RETURNED EVERY MORNING!
It is our mode of communication with you!
