No Child Left Behind
An important notice for paraprofessionals

The NoChild Left Behind Act requires each school district receivingassistance under Title I to ensure that all paraprofessionals hiredafter January 8, 2002, and working in a program supported with Title Ifunds to have completed at least two years of study at an institution ofhigher education; to have obtained an Associates or higher degree; ormeet a rigorous standard of quality and to demonstrate, through a formalstate or local assessment, knowledge of, and the ability to assist ininstructing reading, math, or knowledge of , and the ability to assistin instructing reading readiness, writing readiness, and math readinessas appropriate. We have created links to online practice tests that willhelp those who choose the test option.
