Parents can play an important role in helping their children succeed on achievement tests. Please follow these helpful suggestions throughout the school year. During the School Year Consult with teachers, counselors, and principals immediately if you or they have any concerns about your child. Know when important tests are scheduled. Encourage your child to complete all homework assignments. Set aside a daily study time. Regularly discuss your child's schoolwork with him/her. Help your child with a variety of learning activities. Praise your child for good work. Encourage your child to ask questions at home and in class. Let your child know you think a good education is important.
On the Day of Testing See that your child attends school. Get your child's day off to a good start. Get your child to school on time. Encourage your child to do the best work possible. See that your child eats breakfast. Do not cause your child unnecessary stress regarding the test. Do no send your child to school if illness is apparent.
