    A Tradition of Excellence

Athletics, an important part of Central's total program, are focused toward giving each of our students an opportunity to receive the best possible well-rounded education. Our teams are governed by the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association. CHS offers all students an opportunity to participate in one or more of our more than twenty interscholastic athletic teams.

College Athletic Clearinghouses

Any student who plans to enroll in college as a freshman and participate in Division I or II intercollegiate athletics must be certified by the NCAA Initial Eligibility Clearinghouse. Students should apply for certification after their junior year if they are sure they wish to participate in intercollegiate athletics. Go online at for more information and to register with the Clearinghouse.

NCAA Eligibility Clearinghouse is the official clearinghouse for NAIA eligibility. Every student-athlete must register with the NAIA eligibility center to play sports at an NAIA college.
