Immunization Reminder Letter for Kindergarten and 7th grades
The Tennessee Department of Health and the Maury County Board of Education require all students to have the appropriate immunizations and vaccines on file to attend school.
- Per MCBOE policy 6.402, “No students entering school, including those entering kindergarten or seventh grade, those from out-of-state and those from nonpublic schools, will be permitted to enroll (or attend) without proof of immunization, as determined by the Commissioner of Health unless circumstances outlined in state or federal law prevent a student from producing such records. It is the responsibility of the parents or guardians to have their children immunized and to provide such proof to the principal of the school which the student is to attend.
- Exceptions will be granted to any child whose parent or guardians shall file with school authorities a signed, written statement that such measures conflict with one of the following:
- His/her religious tenets and practices if in the absence of an epidemic or immediate threat of an epidemic, except in the event of a COVID-19 or any variant outbreak, or
- Due to medical reasons if such child has a written statement from his/her doctor excusing him from such immunization.
